Harvest 2018: a record year

Every year at this time we take in the harvest report, which represents a crucial moment for winemaking beacause this is when we can make the most reliable predictions as to the quality and characteristics of the coming vintage.

In Conegliano Valdobbiadene the vines budded a few days later than in 2017, but the abundant rainfall and the high summer temperatures brought about timely flowering, which brought the growth trend closer to normal. The grapes ripened pretty earlier than usual, the harvest was abundant and of good quality. The wines from these grapes will be particularly pleasing and fragrant.

Francesca Follador, the family winemaker, expresses great satisfaction: “This is a record vintage we will remember over time, especially for the significant advance on harvest dates due to early ripening. The technology that we apply in the cellar has allowed these factors not to affect the quality of the musts obtained. The vinification, carried out with the exclusive ‘Gianfranco Follador Method‘, has enhanced the quality of the grapes by obtaining a greater minerality, with the profusion of intense aromas typical of the D.O.C.G. grapes.

So that even this year the expectations of our Prosecco fans will not be disappointed!
